The way this one turned out is growing on me, but I’ll continue to experiment with both the characters and the backgrounds.

The story works better,  and the the film could pass as an experience as long as the visuals are exceptional.

To make the visuals exceptional, use textures, make the animation interesting and a spectacle.

Try some experiments with animated textures and overlaying AND GET IT DONE!

FF Redo Final Cut Assessment

I started again because apparently I hate myself.

 

After much consideration, I decided to get rid of anything that I didn’t like completely.

I ended up with about 6 scenes and started from scratch for all the rest. However, ‘Cleansing’ the film, so to speak, helped me to move forward and I am happier with this than with what I had before.

I am trying to experiment with textures. Different brushes and textures would enhance the visual experiencee

If there’s anything that I’m not feeling, I should take it out.

doodle and experiment with marks and different ways to express my intent. This is to get rid of preconceived notions of animation.#

Try to re-envisage the film in different ways.

-and experiment with textures.

Animation Tests and Finals

This was a test of a possible beginning scene done in animatc form. I’ve really stuggled trying to come up with potential scenes to not only disregard the overall importance of the story but to keep in engaging and actually worth watching.

 

All in all im not particularly happy with what I’ve got but it’s too late to change anything.

I still have halfway to go.

From these film, I was able to see that I didn’t necessarily need a narrative.

My idea outcome would a little bit of a narrative. maybe in the beginning and at the end, with the middle as abstract as I wanted it.

Psychedelic Afro Imagery

If the characters are black, maybe bring that to the forefront in imagery of 70’s Psychedelic Afro-Rock.

One one hand that seems like quite an interesting idea. The swirls that were used a lot could look good.

On the other hand race is not something that I want to bring to the forefront. and the imagery could be quick to bring that to the front of peoples minds.

That and it seems like it would be really hard to animate.

Another Idea was to use a different style for the boy and the girl, using harsher marks for the boy and feather-light ones for the girl.
